NEED HELP LOWERING MY VW?

thank you for helping me. I have a 1999 VW JETTA MKIV. I am looking to lower it like slam it to about a 2 1/2 – 3 inches. I am not looking for something expensive. price is an issue. i have saved up for a suspension and rims. coil overs are expensive, i looked on ebay and cant really find anything to drop it 2 1/2 – 3 inches unless of course i cut a coil off. thank you so much for your help. haha and due to how close it will be to the ground do not worry… i am buying a complete steel skid plate to cover the oil pan, trany, and engine so it wont be much of a problem anymore

So instead of doing it the right way, you are choosing to mickey mouse the whole job and put the car as well as yourself and anyone else in the car at risk? You know you throw the whole geometry of the front end out. Just so it can look good?

Why not just shorten your stock coils, just don’t get too carried away!
